Moana Jr. Broadway Juniors Grades: K-2nd Monday: 4:10-5:10 p.m. Dates: 1/6-3/17 No Class: 1/20, 2/17 Venue: Athenaeum Center, Lakeview Address: 2936 N Southport Chicago, IL 60657 Performance: Monday 3/17 @ Athenaeum Center In Moana Jr., the spirit of adventure takes centerstage. Moana and her friends, the sweet Pua and hilarious Hei Hei, must set sail across the Ocean to save their island home of Motunui. Throughout her journey, she carries forth the legacy of her parents, Sina and Tui, and her beloved Gramma Tala, while wondering just “How Far I’ll Go.” She teams up with the legendary and egotistical demigod Maui (“You’re Welcome,”) to escape the “Shiny” clutches of the terrifying Tamatoa. But only the guidance of the Ocean, and the discovery of her own unknown strength, can help Moana defeat the fiery Te Ka and restore the heart of Te Fiti, to save her home –and humanity. Skyline's Broadway Juniors is an encouraging introductory musical theatre experience designed for young actors that offers the opportunity to sing, dance, act, and embark on an unforgettable journey to bring the magic of Moana Jr. to life onstage. Guided by a professional teaching artist, Juniors receive a named role, participate in every scene and song, and gain confidence as they perform together in front of a live audience in spectacular musical numbers such as “How Far I'll Go,” “You're Welcome,” and “Shiny.” Juniors actors enhance their reading skills as they memorize and recite their lines while bringing their characters to life. Moana Jr. offers a perfect balance of dramatic, comedic, and enchanting roles where every actor can shine. Actors are given scripts, music, choreography videos, and access to more helpful materials on Skyline’s exclusive Actor Resource Page.
