Show: Annie Broadway Ensemble Ages 6-10 One Week Session: 7/28-8/1 Monday-Friday: 9:00-3:00 p.m. Performance: Friday Afternoon 8/1 Venue: Southport Fundamentals Address: 3927 N Southport Ave Chicago, IL 60657 Lunch & Recess: Blaine Elementary Playground In 1930’s NYC, hope is tough to come by for the sweet and sassy orphans Pepper, July, Duffy, Kate, Tessie, and little Molly, who all still dream of their families. But Annie, fellow orphan and the ultimate optimist, and her sweet pup Sandy, lead them to still believe in “Tomorrow” even if today is “The Hard Knock Life.” When Annie has the chance to move in with Billionaire Oliver Warbucks, the ever-efficient Grace Farrell, and their incredible staff, Cecille, Annette, Drake, and Mrs. Pugh, she can’t believe her luck. But even in the face of the grumpy orphanage owner Ms. Hannigan and the evil schemes of her brother Rooster, and Lily St. Regis (like the hotel), Annie, her orphan pals, and radio stars, Bert and Bette, remind us all “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.” Broadway Ensemble is a one-week team-oriented musical theater experience for eager actors of all ability levels, specifically designed for ages 6-10. Skillfully led by an experienced Skyline Teaching Artist, Ensemble actors explore the responsibilities of their individual roles, while discovering the joy of telling a story together. Broadway Ensemble will collaborate to create special moments in their show, sing out together as a team, and learn full-cast dance numbers. In addition to show rehearsals, days will be packed with team-building activities, creating show-themed art, and fun in the sun with friends while visiting the park for outdoor lunch and recess. Actors will be motivated throughout their camp by the anticipation and shared goal of presenting their show with lights, sound, and scenery. Every actor will feel the thrill of make believe, the glow of lighting up the stage, and pride in their hard work coming together as they perform for friends and family on the final date of their camp.
